What we do
Falkirk & District Women’s Aid support anyone experiencing domestic abuse, regardless of age, beliefs, ethnicity, faith, gender, sexual orientation and race; and including “honour based" violence and forced marriage.
We support individuals who choose to remain living with the perpetrator of abuse and those who have left an abusive relationship.
We offer a confidential service and provide emotional support, practical advice and support during crisis, helping with the following:
• Keeping you and your children safe
• Providing advice and information
• Helping you to make decicions
• Supporting you with accommodation, legal advice, benefits etc,
• We offer group work and one to one support
• Support you and your children through this
• Provide training and development to partner agencies and also provide domestic abuse awareness raising.
Falkirk & District Women's Aid
We are a registered charity funded by Falkirk Council, The Scottish Government and The Big Lottery Fund.
We have a Board of Directors who are responsible for the overall direction of the charity.
Our staff are trained to work in this area and we are accredited by The Care Inspectorate.
We have a total of nine staff who work in schools, colleges, outreach and our other base in Falkirk.
Falkirk & District Women’s Aid is a Registered Charity and also a Company Ltd by Guarantee.
We are regulated by The Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) and inspected by the Care Inspectorate.
We are led by a Board of Trustees who oversee the strategic direction of the organisation.
Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Please note we will also open outwith theses hours by arrangement.
We offer a telephone support service out of hours from 5.00pm on Friday evening through to 9.00am on Monday morning and also during public holidays.
No appointment is necessary.
No referral is necessary - you can phone to make an appointment, text, call us or simply drop in.
